After partnering with Warner Bros. Animation for the holiday feature Merry Little Batman, we’ve been thrilled to continue with the same team for the spin-off series. The Mike Roth interpretation of Batman has the most distinct style, inspired by the art of Ronald Searle and developed by Guillaume Fesquet. Animating this style for the feature film meant frame by frame drawing at Gigglebug. In the series, we developed a hybrid pipeline, integrating hand-drawn and rigged supported animation to maintain the same look and feel, yet produce a larger amount of minutes faster! Thanks to some early R&D and and an amazing spirit of collaboration between the technical and artistic teams on the production, this was all seamless and possible!
